---- or, and more pertinently, these kids that were evacuated from London
to avoid the bombing are seeing animals & stuff which is a new experience;

the metal otoh is going to become castings, bearings, gasketry - sounds 
like a parts list for a _rocket_ which --hmm, egad -- "smokeshriek lining" 
is a very figure-ground innovative foreheadslapping way to describe. 
(every cloud has a silver lining; every smoke-shriek has a rocket lining?)
And the kids will never see them because they've been evacuated?
