AtDDta: Pugnax marks the reader.

At page 6, line 9, pynchon's anarchistic act
of capitalization marks the reader of ATD as
the uncricitcal dog on this journey, Pugnax:

... I pray we shall suffer no occasion
for exposure more immediate than that to be
experienced, as with Pugnax at this moment,
safely within the fictional leaves of some
book." [P]lacing upon the word "book"...

Indignant at the assignation, and sorry that
I could not recall the characters even up to
this point, but delighted with the discovery
on this first reading effort, I took my nose
out of the book, and went on to sleep.
