David --

I see a huge distinction between two people in a room talking, one on
one, and these stories being written down and shared with a list-
serve of thousands -- and, by extension, archived on the internet and
made wholly public. I wasn't sworn to secrecy. I'm just trying to
be considerate of the intimacy and personal tone with which the
stories were told to me. Sorry if it came off as sanctimonious or rude.

So, you're right: it's OK for Howard to tell a few stories to people
he meets who express and interest, but it's not OK for us to then
trumpet those stories across the 'net. Exactly.
