Pynchon has become really polymorphous in his sexual connections in
AtD.  This threesome has a later parallel with Reef (of all people),
Cyprian, & Yashmeen,  with Reef porking Cyprian even without
Yashmeen's presence.  Reef even begins to wonder about how it might
feel to be porked by Cyprian.  This "family" is so sweetly portrayed.
This seems like a far cry from the *mostly* negative connotations of
male homosexuality in GR...  And it seems Pynchon relates almost all
sexual relationships as forms of S&M...
