Short answer: yes

Also:

"Meanwhile, Thomas Pynchon is up to his usual business" (from the Atd 
inner jacket).

What he tells us here, is Kit's deal, linked to Walker/Vibe deal.  It 
will lead to (in the next section) a further disintegration of the 
Traverse family; all in all the second section is very sad story.  It 
was preced by a nearly religious section.

The tone is cheerful, there's a distinct absence of emotions in contrast 
to previous and following section, and the pace of telling is amazingly 
quick.  The characters all behave like they are in a movie of comic 
-even Tesla.

Flat or round, anyone?
