Atdtda[4] 105.13 It was over, Webb guessed

Webb lives in a us-and-them world: (79.9-11) "But no need to mention my
name around the Little Hellkite, O.K.? I ain't exactly no miner of the
month up there right now". We've also seen that he uses rudeness to
hide his emotions -- see the bloke-like conversation with Veikko
(82.23-28). This comes together in section 9.3

105.7-8: "It was falling apart. Webb could feel himself losing the
argument, losing his son. Too fast, he said [...]"; Webb "is a little
upturned" (105.19) with Kitt growing up. A silent pact between father
and son not to look each other in the eye.

When Mayva's trying to mediate, again a blunt reaction: "Baby's ass"
(105.29)

which contradicts how he really feels (105.31-39), and how l'histoire se
répète between fathers and sons, his father and his son: "[...] and the
same thing now, like some damn curse, was happening between him and
Kit..." (105.38-39)

Michel.
