Odalisque = female slave of female sexual slaves of the Sultan

This object was made, given a purpose, and given a plan to carry out
that purpose.  It is the slave of its maker, however "conscious" it
might be.

BTW, I don't think it was a Nunatuk spirit, at least the chums don't
seem  to think so.
