Referring back first to your original post on this topic (which I'm not 
going to quote here)...  You've read most of the uncle's novels, but 
you've never met him and know nothing or next to nothing about his 
everyday or domestic life.  You've seen the niece on Real Sex, but 
you've never met her and you are not even familiar with her work.  I 
must be missing something.  What exactly is it that that you think 
gives you a basis for having *any* opinion about how the uncle should 
relate to the niece?

Concerning the remarks quoted above, it is a long leap from being 
"comfortable with the profane" to "being a pornographic model is a 
perfectly fine lifestyle choice".  Pynchon may in fact share this view 
with you.  I would not claim he doesn't, because I would not claim to 
know how he feels about this.  Because he writes a lot about kinky sex 
and appears not to be a prude, he approves of pornography in the manner 
that you do?  Do you also believe that Nabokov approves of  pedophilia?
