I agree that (at least in most cases) inducing arousal is neither an 
aim nor an accomplishment of his writing -- but then it is not 
pornographic, by definition.  There can certainly be legitimate 
disagreement over what 'pornography' means, but it seems clear that for 
something to be pornographic it must at a bare minimum arouse or at 
least intend to do so.
