Kick-Ass Thank You and Jasper's Poll

Thank you for saying it so well for me, Ande. I absolutely love Pynchon's
work for the same reasons. And I think the characters are real enough to
carry it along, adding to, but not interfering with the places he takes us.
I would even say that they are more real to me because I am allowed the
space to imagine and know them as I wish.

By the way, Jasper, the Lake and Deuce questions were not pointless and I
would welcome discussion of any character Pynchon has created. For instance,
Byron the Bulb in GR still has quite a hold on me. However, in ATD I didn't
once question that Lake and Deuce could marry. I guess it's because I think
that during our lifetime we each seek out and form relationships with the
people who are likely to help us work through stuff from the past. Deuce
definitely fits the bill for Lake as far as I can see.

Thanks as well to everyone who allows me and fellow lurkers to do just that
and enjoy.
