No, I think Cometman has it right.  Silverstein spoke of "pulling the
building" in order to avoid any further loss of life, meaning the fire
crew.  And, really, how could anyone possibly think he would admit to
having pulled off a controlled demolition in the middle of a TV
interview?

BTW, as I said earlier, cutting steel columns and loading them w/
explosives for a controlled demolition couldn't be pulled off in
secret in the middle of an occupied office building.  Those columns
aren't hiding in closets.  They're in the middle of offices.  And who
ever saw a building inspector of fife inspector walking around with
acetylene torches ans welder's helmets?  This "controlled demolition"
theory just doesn't hold up under even a cursory inspection.
