When Free Radicals Become Free Agents

Just because you don't like them doesn't make them not good. I know
many people who will express your opinion except about Pynchon.

Out of curiosity, who do you consider their betters? I'm always looking
to find more great music.

I like SY and I couldn't give a rat's ass about appreciation of indie
art. People who would judge me (whether positively or negatively) on
the basis of my music tastes are 1) superficial in their opinions of
others, and 2) bound to get very confused in trying to find a common
thread in my collection if they judge by genre or "scene points."

I thought Sonic Youth were a rock band anyway? In my opinion, Indie is
just a word for people who like to think they know more about art than
they do (ooooh, I listen to indie music, how hip and clever am I?) It's
almost as silly a name as Intelligent Dance Music, and equally as
non-descriptive of the music it supposedly describes.
