Pynchons Over Andover

10 generations does not produce an infinitude of progeny unless you're
practicing Orthodox. A teacher of English at Andover is not a random
Pynchon. We think of Pynchons involvement with business, politics, and
religion and of TRP as a break-away.

The usual study of literature at most schools includes some consideration of
the family background of the author of the work(s) that are being studied.
An author's wishes concerning such familial reviews is generally unknown, as
the author is likely to be unavailable. To the best of my knowledge, TRP
has never requested the lit-crit demi-monde, reporters, or even the unwashed
public at large to refrain from researching his personal background. In
fact, the effective apparent erasure of almost all public TRP personal
artifacts pretty much proves that TRP has long assumed that his background
would be investigated.

OK, pretty lame, but no more so than posting random Pynchons...
