I never do that myself...
when I ask about something instead of, or in addition to, looking it up,
it's in the interest of magnaminously opening a conversational space
allowing for an enthusiast to rhapsodize (-;
it's a litmus test to see if the subject
is not just interesting enough to learn about
but also enough so as to make
people who learn about it interested enough in it to share...
yeah, that's the ticket...
