a) top posting on a reply - this is actually better if one isn't going to snip
since the reader can quickly read the new material and discern where to stop
b) in-line posting on a reply - this to me seems cooler, more trouble to write
but easier to read, eg:
Mike you're a twit.
compared to

--- the latter is obviously clearer.
c) if anyone is in any doubt as to how to post plain text,
please post to the list and name your mailer, if nobody else
gives instructions, I will make a research project if need be.
