     David Kipen:
I'm at dunkard creek, the western terminus of the m&d line,
cutting a visto east to dc. Anything you all remember I should
     check out?

The Catawbas appears to be a rather indignant Nation of Natives:

. . . .who are now involved in the usual service industries that form
the superstructure of the gambling industry.

My trip through Against the Day makes all the metaphysical points
of interest in Mason & Dixon jump out like certain posters under
black light. The Stars and the Land and Rivers, all speaking,
all with souls. Mason's Melencholia drawing him to yet another
visto reminiscent of Giordano Bruno's unfortunate demise. The
rattled Mason [haunted, I keep forgetting, he's haunted] still knows
when the jig is up. That 'haunted' thing, you know. Like Miles,
'cept everything's happier on the Inconvenience, it's like the
happiest place near Earth!
