years ago when I started reading waste and was not as stiff as presently,
I found a page of memos where the waste.org owner responded to a request
for his domain name from an obviously more commercially minded person
who wanted to accumulate all the permutations of waste.xxx available.
It went something like this ---
waste.com: hey, i'm in the waste business and can i have your url to
complete
my collection of waste.xxxs?
waste.org: hey, that contravenes the spirit of the TLDs
waste.com: ah pooh who cares about that?
waste.org: i do, please go away
I spent a few minutes just now looking for the page but it doesn't seem
to be there anymore. However, it did remind me to make a small Paypal
donation
(something I will wax public-spirited about now: this is a great forum, a
bully pulpit,
and whoever the mysterious people are who run it, they deserve our support -
and if they are reading, I will promise to peel off a full $60 if they will
show a sign
that whatever mysterious trouble has arisen about printing logo t-shirts for
$60
donors can be put on their list of moles to be whacked...)
which I have pledged to do this year and going forward every few weeks until
they offer lifetime memberships at which point I'll get a grant and buy one
of those...
as for Alicia Sacramoni, that is how I heard her name until I saw it in
print,
thought it was droll...no inner secret meaning intended...
