Kevin, you seem distressed about the financial markets.
Or perhaps that is why you prepended your brief and brusque comments
to a newsletter about them.
What should we then do?
I think that after a hundred plus years of imperialism the US is lucky to
have
a functioning economy at all.
I think that borrowing from China to kill Iraqis and fatten KBR's bottom
line
is at the root of every current financial woe.
I also think that maintaining a standing army with 700+ military bases
around the world is costly, against the spirit of the Constitution and it's
the "elephant in the room" that people ignore when they wonder why the
world is so fucked up.
I think Bush et al are a criminal usurping oligarchy, and, again, it's
amazing anything at all is working after 8 years of their corruption.
But again I ask, what should we (in particular the Pynchon List, where the
topic is Pynchon's work) then do? I suggest manifesting kindness and
excellence.
Also referring frequently to the works of great authors, such as Pynchon.
And, most importantly, posting on-topic with respect and courtesy to other
list members,
in plain text rather than html.
When replying, trim what you are replying to so that the points you are
replying to
shine through (it's a great chance to practice editing).
Sometimes it's fun to put the text you are replying to on top, so your new
words show up as evidently the reply:
For instance:

LOL

my Lord and Saviour
(end of example)
Finally, consider using spell-check or a similar program.
Peace be with you!
