I'm hardly one in a position to say, let's not devote ourselves
occasionally to anything not immediately Pynchonian here (though I
likely will keep up with notes thereupon while whoever else is on to
Coetzee), but I would hope that we give no small consideration for at
least a little while longer not only to the novel we're still
finishing up on here, but also to all those who participated (i.e.,
all of us), those who hosted individual sections, Tim S. for
organizing the party, John N. for his ongoing commentary (all that IS
being compiled as a whole for posterity somewhere, right? I have a
bad enough time finding my own posts in the archive), Murthy and
Oliver @ waste.org for continuing to put up with us here, and, of
course, Thomas Ruggles Pynchon, Jr., for writing the damn things in
the first place ...

We now presumably as a group have read only the second of Pynchon's
novels that we've had first dibs on here, and, given the vagaries of
acdemic publishing, we still by and large have the drop on "official"
criticismdom (whereas the journalists, having done their [sometimes
hack]jobs, likely won't be back). I would hope that Those Who Think
They Know check in occasionally @ the archives here, 'cos there's
certainly some solid speculation, and more than a little basic
research that's been done here. Then again, as we saw with, say, "The
Kenosha Kid" (thanks, Paul and Paul!), there's still plenty left to be
discovered and/or said a quarter of century down the line, so ...

So thanks, all, albeit in advance, 'cos we ain't done yet, and here's
to hoping we never will be ...

God (or whoever) bless (or whatever) us all, ev'ryone ...
