          Dave Monroe:
I'm hardly one in a position to say, let's not
          devote ourselves occasionally to anything
          not immediately Pynchonian here (though
I likely will keep up with notes thereupon
while whoever else is on to Coetzee), but
I would hope that we give no small
consideration for at least a little while
longer not only to the novel we're still
finishing up on here, but also to all those
          who participated (i.e., all of us). . . .

. . . .not the least of which would be Dave Monroe who managed
to pick up sections others dropped. I thank anyone who challenged
my posts, what with their high weirdness coefficient. I thank Mark
Kohut for cheerleading and helping to note possible alternate
interpretations, Paul Nightingale for continuing to thread an intellectually
consistent and valid [and slower] course through a novel that requires
alternate readings. I know there's many others I need to thank, in
particular whatever forces enabled me to be living in such a time and
place that so much information can be accessed so easily.

Seeing as Quan Yin is staring me down from her spot above the writing
desk, I'll think I'd better thank "The Compassionate."
