while I followed the entire essay about as well as I have assimilated
_Vineland_ (which is to say, large sections sailed right by me), that
sentence caught my eye. Perhaps that "articulated ensemble" is what
is being constructed in _Vineland_, and especially in Chapter 4, where
Zoyd makes his rounds in Vineland and environs sort of like Leopold
Bloom did in Dublin.
