The Internets rule/tradition is that the first person to say nazi loses the argument, right?

I like keeping the Digests and Archives legible, so I appreciate your effort, Tim.  (Just as I appreciate the enormous effort you've made with the TRP web sites, the wiki -- a true service to the larger community of Pynchon readers, bless their hearts, no matter what political affiliation they might choose.)

Haven't seen my previous message come through yet, but, again, my intent is to send plain text.


It's also worth considering whether or not a post really needs to have all previous posts in thread attached.  Generally, that doesn't add much to the discussion, not for me, at least.  Paraphrasing or summing up as necessary to provide context for a new point can often help move an online discussion along, and you don't drag along all those paragraphs and pages of past posts.  If they are essential to the argument (and they almost never are, imo), you could add a link to the post in the archives.  

That would make it even easier for the folks who LISTEN to Pynchon-l digests because they can't read them visually.
