Well, before Herr Lorentzen left the list, he wrote:

Jeez, he called me a nazi there ... which, natch, really hurt coming  
from him. His original post had been so richly formatted that I  
couldn't really read it, but someone else wrote me where it was quoted  
and it came through loud & clear.

 From Wikipedia, the expression Blockwart was used during the period  
of National Socialism of the German population mostly as a generic  
term for functionaries of the Nazi Party.

Oh well, I hope this isn't the general impression here on the list. My  
intentions, as I already expressed, were pretty benign, just asking  
for a bit of consideration. As far as I'm concerned, I won't be  
missing this character.  And I'm sorry if I drove off a valued member  
of the list with my "cleansing" requests.
