The phrase "Against The Day" in Mason & Dixon

Hello all...
I don't normally write messages to this list - I tend to "lurk" - so
apologies if I'm breaking any rules (formatting or otherwise) in asking
this question:
Does the phrase "Against the Day" appear in Mason & Dixon? I read M&D a
couple of years ago and I'm sure I remember being struck by those three
words - so much so that when I heard Pynchon's latest was going to be
named after the phrase, I remember thinking back to M&D and wondering
how he was going to extend the theme. Or perhaps my memory is faulty...
Anyway, if some could tell me (and perhaps provide a page number or
numbers) I'd be really grateful. I tried looking on the wiki quickly but
couldn't find specific instances of the phrase - search results tended
to bring up references to the book AtD.
(And if anyone feels like advising me on the usual rules and customs of
contacting this list, that would be great too. Perhaps, there's a
webpage somewhere.)
Thanks in advance,
Guy
