Who is interviewing Cyprian.
I guess it's the Austrians.

So, maybe behind the scenes is the idea that
Misha and Grisha escaped, or were allowed to escape
by the British (earning from Theign a leniency
not allowed Cyprian - but "whom the Lord loveth,
he chastiseth")
and the Austrians are thrown Cyprian as a bone
instead of Theign having to tell them anything?
(because Theign might actually know)

which sheds a different light on the move to Venice,
does it not? Instead of triumphantly rolling up
the Russian organization, it may be that British
Naval Intelligence was being squeezed out of Vienna.
(well, it is pretty far from the ocean, innit?)

Also on this page, a beautiful lament for the times
appended to what I can only think is a
listening recommendation. It is a nice piece.
Keith Jarrett's and Horowitz both are represented on YouTube.

Wikipedia sez it's the only Mozart piece in F sharp minor
(the Adagio, that is)

and also that it's on the soundtrack for great spy movie
with Michael Caine, _Funeral in Berlin_
