there are some scenes in Israel somewhere...
sharp and evocative scenes


anyway, they say the tree of the knowledge of good & evil was what
brought misery into the world.
the "opposite of Pynchon" paradigm could be viewed as Pynchon good, therefore
the opposite = bad -
which would rouse in me demurrers not very different from malignd's
(how can one possibly appreciate Pynchon without loving other writing
besides his?
like for instance those he refers to, quotes, parodies etc)

but I like Henry's framing: more like a color wheel - what's the
opposite of blue type of question...
finding characteristics that legitimately differ
