Broker G. M. Pynchon, Leader in Wall st., Dies
Deceased Name: George M. Pynchon
New York, March 9 [Special].-- George M. Pynchon, 78, one of Wall street's
best known figures, died today of pneumonia. He was associated wit the
investment house of Eastman, Dillon & Co. In 1932 he was senior partner of
the brokerage firm of Pynchon & Co., one of the largest in Wall street,
when it failed, owing almost $20,000,000. Last Jan. 15 his son, George M.
Jr., was found shot to death on his Long Island estate. Police said he had
committed suicide.
