just wanted to note, it also has a meaning in poetry,
either a line with 14 syllables or sometimes a 14-line sonnet.

obviously, the context suggests mountaineering, but (like Kit)
a long trip up the Taklamakan of alternate meanings could
be interesting though I have no remit to suggest this
