atddta 32: terrific dirt

 Who by now, his pants down and his shoes still on, had entered, and
reentrered, and so forth, and the cycle, now exclusively theirs, wet, high,
and headlong, whirled away from time as other less-urgent lovers might have
known it, until presently, calm for the moment, refusing ever to uncouple,
they lay in warm semirefuge from the midday sun, in the light and shade
between the rows of low plants and the smell of the earth." 

I thought it was memorable, less hot, more comedic, that she would be going
down on him later in the operetta with his trousers still on. 

In the restaurant, they have a carp soup of some kind. I think it's carp
only because I have been to Budapest and they eat carp there. I never had
carp soup--just fried carp. It sounds like it would be good, though!

The soup is brought to them before they ordered it- their waiter the by now
expected character--that arises from time to time--this one described as
telepatic. Also magically offers information on a show and a room. I think
this is a small act on the side stage of destiny and fate. A very minor
time traveller aiding the characters along a path.

If there is a purpose for the operetta, I'm still searching for it. I have
some stuff coming in from an opera chronology.  The operetta has a King who
disguises himself from the noble to the burgher. 

There were a lot of forces pushing these characters around on the board,
wanting them to be where they ended up.
