I hadn't seen "Duck, You Sucker" when this first came around on the P-Liste guitar, but I saw it last night (Netfix [sic]) and:

1. IRA dynamiter on the lam in Mexico diverts from using his dynamite in support of (silver) mining (or did he just say he was going to the mines as a cover?) to using it in the Mexican Revolution. He rides a motorcycle.

2. A German mercenary is the scourge of the state; he rides an armored vehicle with automatic weapons

3. More dynamiting for the revolutionary purposes than any other movie

Lotta nice little moments, many of which are (marginally) Pynchon-relevant, e.g. John H. Mallory, dynamite and nitro strapped to his long-coat, in response to being threatened with a gun, "If you shoot me down, they will have to change all the maps..."

Worth seeing for Steiger, Coburn, the German and his vehicle, and the dynamite, brought to you by Sergio Leone in '71, a few years after "Once Upon a Time in the West"

John H. Mallory: I used to believe in many things, all of it! Now, I
believe only in dynamite.
