Hey, I had this post-post insight:
Talking serpents would refer to the Genesis tale.
Now that's a story about as whacked-out as Valis!

Speaking of which, here's my first insight:
The "three-eyed children of Ihknaton" refer to the
same as the bible's six-winged entities: females!
Holes before, holes behind, holes under their wings.

A-and probably the source of the pink light.
