Bet he's been writing it for years, maybe decades....simultaneously with others (at least AtD)...bet it has more Cof L49echoes than bats can hear...noir detective novel might also bi-locate Lew Basnight, so to speak....

For TRP, "The world is all that is the case"....might have lead him to 
a literal comic--always comic---take on "a case".......
