Leonard jumped to mind immediately. I was working through
his books when I got tired of the blankmail-kidnap-someone-rich
and screw up royally. 'Tishomingo Blues' was a nice change.
I've been slowly working on Lew Archer's adventures. A few
years ago I collected used Black Lizard books:

	I need to review them.
'Seven Slayers' mad me read 'Infinite Jest'. I read doorstoppers
because I like journeys - short stories are frustrating, like running out
in the rain to the mailbox and finding nothing but junk mail.
