I just read this poem in an email invitation to a tribute to this late Palestinian poet (of greatness, they say).

Look at how it mirrors themes in a chapter of TMoP: Wherein D. feels he is his son and asks (to himself) if poetry might not 'save' him?

"Become a child, that I might see my face in your mirror.
Are you me and I you?
Teach me poetry that I might elegize you now now now as you elegize me." —Mahmoud Darwish

If anyone in the New York area thinks they might attend this tribute on this Sunday, I will forward them the invitation.
