new pynchon, aug 2009

I don't know what I want, though my gut tells me it's not going to be a
doorstop... I am supremely excited, yet at the same time AtD would be
perfect denouement for his career. The arc that spanned his career appears
to be at an end with AtD. I'm curious to see if he stays in the same vein
or if he comes way out of left field. Each of the books seem to have some
place in history, I wonder if we're going to see something a bit more
futuristic. Or much further past in history. I feel that he won't go
further back than the time of Mason and Dixon, it seems out of his realm of
interest, William Pynchon's ouvre seeming to be a beginning point to me.
