The "old croaker" does what he can. Seems like he moves
away from the manipulative arts as his career progresses.
That is certainly the case with many osteopaths in this day and
age.

But returning to the excerpt for a minute:

Besides being a wink to Zoyd at the Logjam, is this an
"honest" gender mistake by Jimmy, or a macho put down?
