John Barth, master of quote marks

It's "Menelaiad" in Lost in the Funhouse. Nice experiment but irritating to
read. I don't think the actual quote is (insert lots of quote marks) "words
words words" but that's the sense of the piece. Maybe a case of
misremembering something the way it should have been... Also, "Master of
Quote Marks" is a brilliantly underwhelming title to bestow on somebody. I
would love to have that on my gravestone.
