IV - Mild Spoiler re. tiny detail

Warning: very mild spoiler follows..... If you've read a few reviews, it
probably won't matter to you....


OK, we all know by now Doc Sportello has a thing for John Garfield.
Naturally, I have been gathering some Garfield movies to watch. Last
night I got thorugh (most of) 'Force of Evil', which was new to me and
which I thoroughly recommend. Anyway, just one wee detail I noticed: at
one point, a gangster is trying to persuade an honest accountant to do
something dodgy, and he says something like this:

"Come on, I'm trying to help you. I'm trying to show you how you can
help yourself make a little extra money - on the side, on the 'QT',
under the rose..."

Under the rose eh? Qualifies as a kute korrespondence I think.
