Update on David Fischer

Hello friends

It is with a heavy heart that I bring as I just found out that David
passed away earlier today. David was a very sweet guy who I first met
more than 13 yrs ago or so when I joined p-list. It was he who brought
along the advanced readers copy of M&D when we gathered to celebrate
at Swifts on the Lower East Side in 1997. and who always had a kind
word for everybody. He was a member of the NYPL gatherings which we
had off and on over the years and I always enjoyed his company.

don't know what to say really beyond the fact that I've been fortunate
to meet some wonderful people because of our enjoyment and love for
the writings of Mr Pynchon.  It was great to be able to share such
small wonders with folks like David and I feel very much saddened by
his early passing.

Searching my files I found that his last message to me was to tell me
he got a copy of IV.
