I am afraid that the belief that TRP would have another bestseller 
with AtD was real.  They paid bestseller dollars for it; you would not believe the remored $$ I've heard (and I'm not spreading the rumors)...

And they "advanced'---sales before shipping---the title in bestseller-believing floor displays and into newstand book outlets......

Yes, they wanted and published it to be a bestseller.
