Bartlett's Familiar Pynchon

- but if that is too advanced stuff for Bartlett's, I'll join
the chorus in support of the third Proverb for Paranoids. Most
of my favourite Pynchon quotes work much better in their original
context, but that proverb stands quite well by itself, and it 
does seem to've gained a life of its own, cf. Al Gore's use of it.
