prefatory  note to "Childhood's End":

In a similar vein I wish to express that no one speaks on my behalf.  
Wavy Gravy has pointed out that nobody makes better apple pie than  
your mom. So I'll think I'll take a slice of nobody's apple pie, if  
you please.
