Veils are there, but actually they begin in Judaism as a central
architectural feature of the pre temple tabernacle which is then
repeated in the temple at Jerusalem.

A veil(blue white, red and purple) separated the holy place from the
holy of holies which held the ark of the covenant and the divine
presence. According to Matthew and Luke the veil in the temple tore
in 2 at the moment of Jesus death. The metaphor appears in several
forms in the New Testament.
Celts also had the idea that there were times and places where the
separation between the worlds got thin or opened.
Islam veils women and Persian miniatures offer glimpses into a
paradise where women bathe in crystal waters and centaurs with wings
of fire fly through the heavens.
Not sayin what these dudes were eatin, but sounds like more fun than
a love affair with a hot kalashnikov or pile of paper with a dead
prseident's face printed on it.
.
Terrence Mckenna thinks DMT is a door to commune with plant spirits.
That such doors facilitate a transformation of matter to
consciousness. A sauna and a glass of wine is usually enough for me.

Anyway kind of a bad trip to see the Golden Fang through the veils of
the next world and I think it's bummin a lot of folks out these
days. I don't think Doc really wants to see what he sees, is
instantly turning it into a kind of visionary insanity. What happens
to the people who see the hard evidence of something no one else will
believe or be willing to deal with?

Dorothy Gale now color- ized gets a look behind the curtain after
offing the wicked witch. Does Doc have a similar peek coming?
