This Catcher thread has me scratching my head because I can't remember
having any response to it when I read it (at 14) other than to wonder
what it meant, and to then search for some commentaries. My lack of
response was probably mostly a function of a relative lack of exposure
to serious fiction and thus an inability to read the cues to beneath
the surface messages.
My reading to do list is too long to worry about reading Catcher
again, but since I've never read Franny & Zooey, I should probably add
that to my list.
