which, of course, of course, shows Hawaiian movies and plays Hawaiian tunes on the way to Hawaii! Where lies disappointment (at least) upon arrival. 
Hawaii---Paradise on earth? think/say some. 

p.62 "fake book..of Hawaiian tunes"---?? just more inauthenticity, simulacra? Book of the Masked? NAH
       "starry night"---allusion to Van Gogh's famous visionary picture?--a phantasmagoric Nature (says MoMa). Don't think so, but with TRP, why not a little embedding of one
of the most famous night scenes ever? 

Z's job "was to keep passengers from thinking about what lay in store for them at the other end"...

The 'security' for Kahuna Airlines manifest disagreeable subtexts, harassing, abusing, needling....

Is this whole Kahuna Airlines section a SATIRIC comment on certain Eastern religions in America, on the embracing
of reincarnation, etc?
