Good point that DL is rebelling against her upbringing the way Frenesi is. Each chooses to retain some of the trappings of that upbringing, but in a distorted version. Frenesi is still part of the preterite, like her parents, but she answers to The Elect instead of fighting them. DL is as much of a fighter as her dad, but she's a lefty-feminist, martial arts-oriented, free-spirited fighter.
