IV reviewed in Publishers Weekly

I read the 'throwaway masterwork' line as implying that Pynchon is so
special that even his relatively light (or, if you will, 'throwaway')
works are genius. Perhaps 'throwaway' was not a very carefully chosen
word, or maybe it was deliberately provocative? Still I think the
meaning was positive.
Everything I've heard about this book so far (except that original
"Pynchon, working in an unaccustomed genre" quote in the Penguin(?)
catalogue, which led me (and Tore) to worry that IV might be a 'silly
Noir parody'), makes me feel almost childishly excited about it.
Actually, scratch that almost, I *am* childishly excited.
