The American handbook: The Primer for Daily Life by Susan Willis
The high equals low culture argument simply doesn't hold up. But the
big events, the election of the first African American President, the
War on Iraq ...simply don't tell us enough about capitalist culture in
America. One needs to study Scooby-doo and pop music too.
The relativism and leveling of culture is satirized in the works too.
