"various bombings in London, from March 1883 onwards, which included
part of Victoria Station (February 1884), Nelson's Column and Scotland
Yard (May 1884). In February 1885 the New Rok paper The Irish World announced a reward for the assassination of the Prince of Wales. The
Contemporary scene was reviewed in William Dillon's 'Assassination and
Dynamite' in The Fortnightly Review (april 1884). Abroad there were acts
of terror---culminating in the assassination of the Tsar in 1881. In December 1884 Freidrich August Reinsdorf was tried for conspiring to
