Popular Music in Pynchon (IV)

Being completely alien to the SoCal music scene in the 60s/70s, can we
start a playlist on music to be listened to while reading IV?

I've already started compiling music the novel makes reference to and
it makes a huge difference to crank it up when you're making your way
through it. No spoilers though as readers should come across these as
they go.

But more generally, what were the sounds of the beach and the back
alleys of California around that time? Let's say the few years to
either side of the time Charles Manson helped pen the Beach Boys song
"Never Learn Not To Love".
